New work  Raleigh Editorial Photography GQ MagazineMeet the Bodyguards Signing Up to Protect America’s Frightened Billionaires

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh-based editorial and commercial photographer Bryan Regan recently photographed a feature for GQ https://www.gq.com/story/meet-the-bodyguards-signing-up-to-protect-americas-frightened-billionaires highlighting the growing world of executive protection and personal security. The story focuses on Elijah J. Shaw, founder and CEO of ICON Global, and the increasing demand for highly trained protection professionals amid a changing security landscape. The feature explores Shaw's work training executive protection agents and safeguarding high-profile clients.

Regan was commissioned to create environmental portraits and editorial imagery for the article at multiple locations throughout the Triangle, including a private aircraft hangar at Raleigh-Durham International Airport and several downtown Raleigh settings. The assignment combined aviation, architecture, and documentary-style portraiture to visually convey the professionalism, preparedness, and discretion that define the executive protection industry.

"The opportunity to photograph Elijah and the ICON Global team for GQ was an exciting challenge," said Regan. "The goal was to create images that reflected both the intensity and sophistication of modern personal protection while showcasing the unique character of Raleigh as a backdrop."

Known for his editorial and commercial photography, Regan specializes in creating authentic, story-driven imagery for magazines, brands, and corporate clients. His work emphasizes strong visual narratives, thoughtful composition, and a sense of place.

The GQ feature, written by Elijah Shaw, examines the evolving role of executive protection professionals and the specialized training required to operate in today's increasingly complex security environment.
