Raleigh Editorial Photography Vollis Simpson

Lucama is about an hour drive from Raleigh. For the past couple of summers we’d always drive up to see Vollis Simpson at his studio / Whirligig Park or Acid Park as the locals called it. He liked pretty women and Rush Limbaugh radio. Some of his work is on permanent display at the American Visionary Art Museum and NCMA. Don’t take things for granted, because one day they might not be there RIP Vollis Simpson.
