I’ve stayed in some shacks and huts in third world countries, shelters on the Appalachian trail that were nicer than this place.I don’t usually write reviews but I felt it my duty to warn the world of Rodeway Inn & Suites Wilmington North Carolina located at 5025 Market Street Wilmington NC 28405 operated by Choice Hotels. If I could give lower than 1 star I would. I should of known when I checked in and they gave me a remote for the TV and had me put down a $150.00 deposit. The batteries for the remote were held in by a piece of bright blue duct tape with pictures of bacon on it. The outside was pretty run down and the inside was even worse. No carpet on the floor and a fine coat of dirt and grime. There were hairs everywhere, cigarette burns in the bed spreads, powerstrips dangling from the outlet, torn lampshades, stains on the walls and furniture, moldy refrigerator. I was afraid to take my shoes off. First thing I did was try to find another hotel room for the night. Everything was booked, being Friday night by the beach. I was stuck in this horror. This isn’t a family friendly hotel. It seems to be out of town construction workers, maybe weekly renters who have furniture and grills set up outside their doors. Some sketchy stuff goes on at night, not really sure but I’m sure you could film an episode of Cops at this motel. I slept with my shoes on, I was afraid to let my feet touch the floor. I used an extra towel as a blanket, because I was scared of the thin comforter. The icing on the cake was when booking for this work trip, I decided to pay a few extra bucks to get a breakfast. Guess what ? No breakfast, no even coffee. I’m going to post this everywhere hope you can see the photos. I tried to get a picture of the giant cock roach but it was to quick. You’ve been warned.
